Calling all skater film makers! Have you ever wanted to make your own footy tapes or produce a short film about your skateboarding story?

The Kickflip program is collaboration between City Lore and Reel Works Teen Filmmaking. It is a movie making workshop for skaters with stories to tell.  We will be holding our first all day workshop on Saturday, December 10

We will start the day talking about videos and learning camera skills with Reel Works Teen Mentors. Within hours you’ll be ready to go outside in teams to shoot footage. In the afternoon teams will come back to the Reel Works editing suite to edit and screen the movies- all in one day!  Food and snacks will be provided.

At the end of the screening guest judges will give awards for

  • Best tricks
  • Best cinematography
  • Best Editing
  • Best Sequence
  • Best use of NYC

Interested filmmakers who want to take their movie to the next level will be invited to come back and polish their movies with Reel Works peer mentors over the winter.
