Harold Hunter Weekend begins tonight 6PM at the UXA store in Brooklyn with a special Harold Hunter Foundation benefit skate jam and reception where a limited edition UXA x HHF x adidas Skateboarding deck and t-shirt adorned with a classic Harold Hunter portrait shot by renown photographer Sue Kwon. Live beats provided by DJ Daddy Dog.

Sue Kwon is an OG street photographer. She started her career by documenting the ins and outs of New York City with subject matter ranging from everyday life to underground strip clubs to now iconic rappers of the late ’80s and ’90s. She also captured the early days of the NYC skate scene.

“Many years ago, I was shooting Cypress Hill by the Cube. Suddenly, a little grommet jumped into frame and wouldn’t leave until I took a few images of him standing with the group. It was years later that I realized this bold little kid was Harold Hunter,” says Kwon. “By that time we were friends and I always looked forward to capturing his personality on film – he was an expert at sizing up any situation and immediately sharing his intuitive observations about it. Thank you, Harold, for allowing me to witness and photograph snippets of your very full and special life.”

100% of proceeds from the sale of the limited edition deck ($60) and t-shirt ($40) will benefit the Harold Hunter Foundation. Only 75 decks will be available across four sizes: 8.0″, 8.125″, 8.25″ and 8.5″. Only 150 t-shirts will be available (S-XL), with 75 offered per colorway (white or black).

In addition to being sold at the UXA store on May 31st, both collaborative items will also be available for sale at the June 3rd HRLD Photo Exhibition presented by adidas Skateboarding and the HHF at the SoHo Arts Club (136 Bowery), and at the June 4th Harold Hunter Day XI Skate Jam (Coleman Oval/LES Skatepark).
