This week we’re reviewing the Etnies Jameson SL model, a no frills skate shoe. It’s not overdone. There’s no gimmicks. The colorway in my opinion is perfect: all black. It seems like every few years brands impose new gimmicks and technology that promise to make a difference. Over time I’ve found that while some actually do make some improvements, there’s no substitute for simplicity.
These shoes feel comfortable, the first skate session revealed that they don’t need any breaking in and are good to go out of the box. The only splash of color is on the insole featuring Matt Berger’s name with a snake graphic. They retail for $64.99 and are available in skateshops and online.
