G-Shock watches sent us over one of their latest watches to try out: the GA700. It’s a digital watch that looks built for heavy duty. That’s a good thing if you want to keep it on when you skate. Personally, I prefer a watch when I go skate and to leave any technology at home. I’m easily distracted by my phone. All I really need to know when I’m out skating is how long I’ve been out and when I need to head home, so a watch that can handle a slam better than I can is good to have.

The new 3D hands make the watch easy to read, but it also lists the time digitally since some of you younger guys have told me you don’t know how to read time in “analog.” Some other features are that it’s water resistant up to 200M, easily changes time zones for travelling, comes equipped with a stopwatch and alarm settings. Being used to telling time in the military, I also like the added feature of switching to 24hr time telling. Overall, it’s a solid watch that retails for $99 available for purchase now at most G-SHOCK retailers, including Macy’s, shopcasio.com and the G-SHOCK Soho store.
