Here’s the conclusion of our 3-part exclusive interview with NYC native, pro skateboarder and entrepreneur – Keith Hufnagel. In this part Alex Corporan and Keith discuss the reappearance of Metropolitan, a 90’s wheel company who’s team included some heavy hitters from the East Coast. They cover the Marc Johnson x Lakai beef, skateboarding in the Olympics and share some extensive advice on how to come up in skateboarding and what it takes to run your own brand.
Big thanks to Keith for taking time to meet up with us! Make sure to check out the new HUF store at 125 Crosby St. and follow them at @hufnyc.
First, I have a ton of respect for you and love your brand. Spitfire/HUF collab shoes on my feet as I write this. My question is why take the high road regarding Nike after waxing about skateboarding missing beef? MJ vs Lakai vs Choc – If you truly believe skateboarding is missing this, then why waste the opportunity? You got a good thing going with your brand and have the respect/stature to flex. I’m disappointed in the contradiction.
