Chelsea Piers skatepark at Pier 62 officially opened to the public yesterday. Time Out New York & the Andy Kessler Foundation posted some pics from the ceremony and ESPN posted some flipcam footage. We also shot some photos (slideshow above) and put together this panoramic so you can see the full layout. Prizefighter Facebooked some of the official rules. We spoke to the park police and they confirmed that helmets are mandatory but it’s up to the skaters to enforce the rules and if skaters don’t enforce the rules than they will appoint someone who will. So grab your helmet, head over to the new park and have some fun!
